Cargo Insurance

Cover arranged before your cargo moves

All-risk marine, air and road cargo insurance, plus specialist live-animal protection, placed through A-rated underwriters and confirmed in writing.

Freight being loaded under supervision

Carrier liability is not insurance

Standard carrier liability is capped by international convention and calculated by weight, not by the value of your goods. A single damaged pallet can exceed the limit many times over. Cargo insurance closes that gap.

  • Cover based on commercial invoice value, not chargeable weight
  • Protection across every leg, including storage and transhipment
  • Placed before departure and confirmed on your booking documents

What an all-risk policy includes

Terms are confirmed per shipment. The summary below reflects the standard all-risk wording we place for clients.

Marine Cargo

FCL and LCL ocean movements, including general average, jettison and container damage.

Air Cargo

Door-to-door air movements with cover for handling damage, pilferage and non-delivery.

Road & Inland

Collection, trunking and final delivery legs, including loading and unloading operations.

Storage & Warehousing

Goods held in bonded or ambient storage between transport legs at GlobePulse facilities.

Live Animal Cover

Specialist protection for pet relocation, including veterinary cost provisions in transit.

High-Value Goods

Enhanced terms for electronics, pharmaceuticals and project cargo, subject to survey.

Four steps, handled by your coordinator

01

Notify immediately

Report loss or damage to your coordinator within three days of delivery, before goods are moved on.

02

Preserve evidence

Retain packaging and provide photographs, the delivery note and the commercial invoice.

03

Survey and assessment

Where required, an independent surveyor attends and we file the claim on your behalf.

04

Settlement

Underwriters settle to insured value, with progress reported at each stage of adjustment.

Insurance, answered plainly

Premium is a percentage of the insured value, which is normally the commercial invoice value plus freight. Rates depend on commodity, route and packing, and are quoted alongside the freight rate.
No. Cover must be in place before the cargo leaves the collection address. Request insurance at quotation stage or with your booking confirmation.
Inherent vice, inadequate packing, ordinary wear, delay-related loss of market and prohibited goods are excluded. Full wording is issued with the certificate.
Specialist live-animal cover is available on request and is quoted separately. Limits and veterinary cost provisions are confirmed in writing before travel.

Insure the shipment, not just the freight rate.

Ask for insurance to be quoted with your next booking and we will confirm terms and limits in writing.
